Nationwide Unity Transport Limited is the 1st Scheduled Urban City Bus Transportation Company in West Africa with its Head Office located in Abuja City, Nigeria.

Today Nationwide Unity Transport Limited is a multi-billion Naira company primarily because its Chairman Dr. Bawa Garba refused to give up an idea that most people considered “too big to be realized”. In his words “I started with a blank sheet of paper, staring at the ceiling and wondering what it would be like to have an efficient and effective transport system in several African countries, I went to build on the concept. My blank sheet of paper metamorphosed into a business plan, MOU, agreements, — and the rest is history.”

For Dr. Bawa Garba, it was not enough to lament and condemn the poor transportation system in Africa; rather it was time to take positive steps towards changing the system. He convinced the then minister of the federal capital territory of Nigeria, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who facilitated a Public Private Partnership (PPP) that eventually led to the signing of a Routes Concession Agreement between Nationwide Unity Transport Limited and the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for the concession, operation and management of bus routes and associated infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja.
